„Artists to Artists“ Benefit Auction and Awarding of Scholarships

November 8, 2021

On Friday, March 26, the decision was made to allocate the Luc Art Fund’s social scholarships. The proceeds from the December charity auction Artists to Artists, which exceeded 400 thousand Czech crowns, were divided into six scholarships of 65 thousand crowns.

An expert committee represented by Jana Bukvová (founder of the foundation), Gabriela Böhmová (personal coach and lecturer) and Jiří Ptáček (art theorist and curator) approved all 21 applications received and forwarded them to the lottery. The criteria for applying for the scholarship were providing evidence of active artistic activity and a brief description of a life situation that has been negatively affected by the pandemic crisis.

The lottery was conducted with representation from the committee members and legal oversight. The names of the recipients will remain unpublished in order to preserve the trust between the Foundation and the applicants who have been in difficult situations due to the events of the last year. The use of the scholarship funds remains at the discretion of the artists.

The founders of the Luc Art Fund, Jana Bukvová and Lucie Drdová, would like to thank everyone involved, especially the artists who provided works for the charity auction, the applicants and J&T Bank – the main partner – for their trust and support.
